ARTIST STATEMENT
I was always fascinated by history and world mythology, particularly Celtic mythology, because the stories are so different from everyday life. Too many books and television shows are aimed at a generic audience, with the same short list of issues, plots, and character types. I am not a generic audience, and I'm sure others out there feel the same.
In my artwork I create an alternative mythology, rearranging narrative, symbol and archetype until I have created something very different from the norm. For the last year I have felt that I am going through a period of change or transformation. So my recent work has a feeling of immanent change, of transformation and metamorphosis.
